Thomas Owen Townley

August 18, 1862 – March 19, 1935 Originally from Newmarket, Ontario, Thomas Townley served as Vancouver mayor for 1901. After losing in a bid for a second term he became registrar of land titles in Vancouver, a position he had held previously in New Westminster. He is also remembered as the commander of Vancouver’s first militia. Initiated: Union Lodge No. 9 Affiliated: 1896/03/16 Cascade Lodge No. 12
