The pentagram in heavy metal music

Norway’s Dimmu Borgir, a “Melodic Black Metal”, band from 1994 to the present, have adopted all of the trappings of the heavy metal and goth music community, with a certain original flair. While the pentagram is a common motif, the hexagram, or Star of David, is rarely seen in this context. Also see: |

Venom. Conrad Lant, Antony Lant and Jeff Dunn released their debut album “Welcome to Hell” in 1981 (Neat), a landmark in satanic black metal music. The pentagram would not reappear on their cover art until “Metal Black” was released in 2006 on the Sanctuary label. |
