January 5, 1855 – July 9, 1932 The American inventor, King Gillette, introduced the safety razor to the market on September 28, 1901. Gillette was part of a broad socialist movement in the USA in the 1890s, who wanted to use the profits from his safety razor to finance his beliefs in a new socialist system.
