October 6, 1859 – February 20 1947 Surgeon to the British Columbia Penitentiary, Dr. DeWolf-Smith was a tireless supporter of Freemasonry, serving as Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Correspondence, Grand Historian, Grand Librarian and finally, Grand Secretary. His many years of service were recognized in 1932 with his election as an Honourary Past Grand Master. In 1924 he wrote a short introductory history of Freemasonry in British Columbia.
